Red Sea Turtle Project

The Red Sea Turtle Project is an awareness and conservation initiative based in Sharm El Sheikh - Egypt, financed by Project AWARE and locally supported by the Ras Mohammed National Park and the entire dive community!
There are two main aims to the project:
•To raise awareness of the endangered state of sea turtles and outline conservation initiatives. This will be done in different ways:
‣By enrolling in the PADI specialty written by Marco - Sea Turtle Awareness.
‣By downloading our leaflets and showing them to your friends.
‣By becoming a fan of our page on Facebook.
‣By downloading the manual “Sea Turtle Awareness”. It’s free!
‣By sponsoring specific events
•To create a distribution map of sea turtle population in the area of Sharm El Sheikh. This will be done with the help of all dive centre's and their divers submitting sea turtle sightings at the end of each dive; or by submitting sightings online. Dive centres can download the sighting report form and the leaflet with the turtle species identification chart.
The Red Sea Turtle Project team would like to express their enormous gratitude to our sponsors and everyone who has contributed to the success of this initiative.
